Enquiry: The owner has sent an initial message with dates and the sitter can pre-approve them with a specific price, or decline if unavailable. If the Enquiry is pre-approved, then the owner can confirm and pay if they are happy to go ahead (or cancel if they no longer need the service).
Pre-approved: The sitter has pre-approved the Enquiry (which confirms that they're available). Now it's up to the owner to confirm and pay (or cancel if they no longer need the service).
Direct booking: The owner has made a direct reservation through the sitter's listing and has already entered their payment details. The sitter should accept or decline promptly. If the sitter accepts, the booking becomes "confirmed". If the sitter declines, the booking becomes "declined" and the credit card authorisation is immediately removed (or the owner is immediately refunded if they chose to pay through iDEAL).
Confirmed: The booking is on! Either the owner has confirmed a booking that the sitter had pre-approved, or the sitter has accepted a Direct Booking made by an owner. The owner can still cancel, with any refunds depending on the sitter's cancellation policy.
In progress: The booking has started! The sitter can now keep the owner updated with photo or video messages of their dog having fun.
Completed: The booking has finished and the owner can now leave a review for the sitter.
Expired: The owner made a Direct Booking but 24 hours have passed without the the sitter accepting or declining the booking.
Closed: The owner made an Enquiry that did not become confirmed and the end date has now passed.
