First, you need to be logged into your DogBuddy account on the website or in the app.
From there, once you've found a sitter you'd like to contact, you can do it in one of two easy ways:
1. Direct Booking
If you've found an available sitter and want to book directly with them, you can click on the Book Now button on their listing, after selecting the dates of the booking. You'll then be prompted to enter your dog's details, a message to send to the sitter with any relevant information, and your payment information to reserve the sitter's availability. In the unlikely case that a sitter declines the direct booking, you'll have unlimited access to our Concierge Service team who will help you find another sitter.
Note: when you make a direct booking, you'll be prompted to enter your payment details to validate the reservation, which you can by credit card or through iDEAL. If you select to pay by credit card. At that time, your card will be pre-authorized (but not charged) for the full amount of the booking. You will only be actually charged when the sitter confirms the request. Naturally, if a sitter declines, or if the booking expires (after 24 hours), the pre-authorisation will be automatically released and no charge will be applied. If you choose to pay through iDEAL, the full amount will be charged to your account immediately. As with credit card payments, if a sitter declines or the booking expires within a day, we automatically refund you the full amount. Learn more about payments here.
2. Send an Enquiry
If you've found a sitter in your area but would like to send any clarifying questions before booking (for example, if the sitter has experience with elderly dogs or if they can accommodate a special request), you can simply click on the Send a Message link under the Book Now button on their listing. This will send a message to the sitter, after you enter your dog's information. If they can accommodate your request, they can Pre-Approve a booking for the dates you'e selected. We recommend messaging at least three sitters with an enquiry, to make sure you have a few options available if one of the sitters can't accommodate your dates or specific request.
Note: To send a message you need to specify your desired booking dates. If the sitter's calendar is blocked off on the requested dates, you won't be able to send them a message. We recommend that you select your desired booking dates in the first step of your search to avoid disappointment.
